Dr. R. Madhu Sairam is a distinguished Radiation Oncologist with over 14 years of experience. Renowned
for his compassionate patient care and advanced technical skills, he has significantly contributed to the
field of Oncology in India. A graduate of Coimbatore Medical College, he pursued his MD in Radiation
Oncology from the prestigious Barnard Institute of Radiology and Oncology (BIRO), Madras Medical College,
in 2011.
He currently serves as the Director of Academics and Lead Radiation Oncologist at GEM Cancer Center,
Coimbatore, where he leads clinical and academic initiatives in radiation oncology.
Advanced Radiation Techniques:
Proficient in Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy (IG-IMRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic
Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), HyperArc Radiation Therapy (first in India for brain metastases), and

Dr. R. Madhu Sairam holds several prestigious leadership positions in both medical and community
organizations. He currently serves as the President of Rotary Coimbatore Meridian (2024–25), Treasurer of
the Coimbatore Oncological Society (CONCOS), and Joint Secretary of the AROI Tamil Nadu Chapter.
Nationally, he contributes as an Executive Committee Member of the AROI National Chapter and plays a vital
global role as the India Representative and Leadership Committee Member of FARO (Federation of Asian
Radiation Oncology). He also serves as the Secretary-Treasurer of the CMC Global Doctors Alumni
Foundation.
In addition to leadership, Dr. Sairam has played key organizing roles in advancing oncology education and
collaboration. He is the Founder-Secretary of CONCOS and has served as the Organising Secretary for
several high-impact events, including the AROI TN-Py State Conference (2014), Brachytherapy Workshop on
Cervical and Breast Cancers (2018), and YROC – National Meet for Radiation Oncologists (2020). He was also
the Chair of the Scientific Committee for ICON Coimbatore (2015).
Beyond oncology, Dr. Sairam contributes meaningfully to community health through his involvement in
Rotary. He was the Community Chair of Rotary Coimbatore Meridian during 2022–23 and served as Project
Coordinator for “The Guardian” Palliative Care Initiative.
Dr. Sairam is also deeply committed to academic advancement and continuous learning. He is the
Coordinator of CORE (Continuing Oncology-Radiation Education) and has contributed to key academic
literature, including a chapter on the pathology of lung cancers in the TMH publication on Lung Cancer.
