Dr. Prema Subramaniam is a distinguished Breast Radiologist with over 12 years of experience in breast and women's imaging. She graduated from the prestigious Madras Medical College, Chennai, and earned her MD in Radiodiagnosis from the renowned Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry.
She further underwent subspecialty training in breast and women's imaging at Kovai Medical Center and Hospital (KMCH), Coimbatore. Dr. Prema is among the very few radiologists in India to have qualified for the European Board of Breast Imaging (EBBI), an internationally recognized subspecialty certification awarded by the European Society of Breast Imaging (EUSOBI).
With expertise in breast imaging, image-guided breast interventions, and breast cancer screening, Dr. Prema is committed to providing accurate diagnosis, evidence-based care, and compassionate, personalized management for women with breast concerns. She works closely with surgeons, oncologists, and pathologists to ensure comprehensive, multidisciplinary breast care.
Clinical Breast Care: Comprehensive breast consultations, evaluation and management of breast symptoms, breast cancer screening, risk assessment, and personalized breast care.
Multimodality Breast Imaging: Expert reporting of screening and diagnostic mammography (2D digital mammography, digital breast tomosynthesis, and contrast-enhanced mammography), breast ultrasound, and breast MRI.
Image-Guided Breast Interventions: Ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies, fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC), preoperative wire localization, and marker clip placement.
Vacuum-Assisted Breast Procedures: Image-guided vacuum-assisted breast biopsy (VAB) and vacuum-assisted excision (VAE) of selected breast lesions.
